DOMINIQUE PERRAULT
Consistent with Berlin's agenda behind its unsuccessful bid to hose the 2000 Olympics, the velodrome and swimming pools designed by Dominique Perrault act mainly as enhancing infrastructure in the city's reunification process. The two buildings and the premises that connect them are buried within an orchard of apple trees, thus dissolving their status as objects and creating a void that acts as an attractor for new recreational activities.
