In this edition of ‘C3’, the disappearance of the classical “base” in architecture takes centre stage in ‘Podia, Plinths and Flying House’, wherein the vertical progression of contemporary buildings is investigated and redefined in an essay by Silvio Carta. The issue’s second theme, ‘Wall Graft’, opens with an analysis by Nelson Mota, delving into issues surrounding the preservation, renewal and use of derelict structures.
