Since 2003, China has seen rapid and continuous economic development, becoming the second-largest economy after the United States. This has had an enormous impact on the building sector, with the rate of urbanization rising sharply. This issue features over 20 projects by Chinese architects, ranging from newly built to various kinds of transformations. Situated in metropolises like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, the selection includes a range of typologies, from cultural institutions to university buildings, and from warehouses to single-family homes.
